Warnings and advice
* CUSTOMIZED BACKPACKS: if you have purchased the patches to stick on our backpacks, we will give you some advice to avoid ruining the nylon fabric. Always cover the patch with a fabric cloth or baking paper, paying particular attention to the backpack handles which are made of waxed nylon and therefore tend to melt easily. Once your patch is attached, let the fabric cool and wait for it to adhere well. If it comes loose somewhere later, just a little strong instant glue (like Attak) is enough to make sure you don't lose it. WARNING: only use glue on fabrics that do not need to be washed regularly, and which are not in direct contact with skin.
* First check the garment's clothing label to find out its composition. Iron-on patches are perfect for cotton and polyester blend fabrics, while you need to be much more careful with nylon fabrics and delicate materials because you could damage them with the high temperatures of the heat press or iron. The general rule is: if the garment is ironable then we can glue the patches on it.
* After these precautions, lay the garment on the press surface or on the ironing board, identify the area where you wish to attach the patch or thermoadhesive label and iron it carefully to have a smooth and homogeneous base. Heat the iron to the maximum available power, making sure you have excluded the steam function, but if you use the press, bring it to a temperature of at least 180°.
* Then place the iron-on part of the patch (i.e. the back) on the fabric, in the exact point where you decided to glue it. To protect the embroidery we advise you not to iron the patch directly: you can cover it with a thin cloth, or iron the inside of the garment by turning it upside down so as to apply the heat source in direct contact between the fabric of the garment itself and the back part of the embroidered patch (this method is highly recommended especially for gluing and applying patches with an iron).
* At this point all you have to do is hold the iron on the patch area for about 90 seconds with the maximum pressure you can exert and that's it. Remember that the thermoadhesive reaches maximum effectiveness in about 48 hours, so after application let the personalized garment rest and then avoid washing it for about a couple of days in order to have perfect "crystallization".
